The following was reported in a recent Orlando Sentinel news article:State law requires (sexual) offenders to live at least 1,000 feet from where children gather.
In Deltona, Maitland, Oviedo, Leesburg and many other cities, offenders can't live within 2,500 feet -- about a half-mile -- of such places, typically schools, parks and day-care centers. Deltona also puts buffers around bus stops.
